IMPORTANT INFORMATION - VISA APPLICATIONS
Due to the security situation, the Consular Section of the Embassy of Hungary in Tehran has been temporarily closed as of 17 June 2025.
Please be informed that for the time being Iranian and Afghan citizens can apply for visas at any Hungarian Embassy of any country. Applicants who have already applied for a visa will be informed about the decision in the coming period of time. In case of a positive decision, the visa will be issued at the Embassy of Hungary in Baku. Negative decisions will be sent to the applicants by e-mail. Applicants who do not agree with the negative decision can appeal at the Hungarian Embassy or Consulate in any country.

I have a pendig visa case - what will happen with my visa application?
A decision will be made in your case, according to the general visa rules. You will be informed about the decision.
I have applied for a visa at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Hungary in Tehran. If the decision has been made, where and how can I receive it?
In case of a positive decision, the visa will be issued at the Embassy of Hungary in Baku. In case of a rejection, you will be informed about the decision via email.
Can someone else collect my visa if I cannot travel to Baku in person?
A person in possession of an appropriate authorization letter can pick up the visa.
In case my visa application is rejected, where and how can I make an appeal?
Applicants who do not agree with the negative decision can appeal at the Hungarian Embassy or Consulate in any country.

I have applied for a visa at the VFS Global. I do not know where my passport is: VFS or the Embassy of Hungary in Tehran. How can I get information about my passport?
